A scientific committee from the Department of Soil Sciences and Water Resources at the College of Agriculture conducted a visit to review the research of a master’s degree candidate.

As part of its ongoing academic oversight of postgraduate research, a scientific committee from the Department of Soil Sciences and Water Resources, College of Agriculture, University of Diyala, conducted a visit to review the Master’s thesis research of Mr. Jassim Mohammed Hassan, supervised by Professor Dr. Hassan Hadi Mustafa. The purpose of the visit was to examine the progress of the research and to discuss its preliminary findings.
The visit was undertaken within the framework of evaluating the scientific advancement of the study entitled “The Effect of Organic Fertilizers and Foliar Application of Fulvic Acid on the Growth of Lettuce under a Hydroponic Cultivation System.” The research seeks to investigate the role of organic fertilizers and growth stimulants in enhancing the vegetative and productive characteristics of lettuce cultivated under hydroponic conditions, thereby contributing to the development and improved efficiency of this modern agricultural system.
During the visit, the committee reviewed the experimental design and the mechanisms employed in implementing the various treatments. It also engaged in a detailed discussion of the scientific and methodological aspects of the research, offering several scholarly observations and recommendations intended to elevate the academic standard of the study and to ensure the fulfillment of its objectives.
At the conclusion of the visit, the committee commended both the student’s efforts and the quality of academic supervision, emphasizing the significance of applied research of this nature in advancing sustainable agriculture and keeping pace with contemporary agricultural technologies, particularly in the field of hydroponics.
