Vision
The College of Agriculture plans to continuously strive to acquire the necessary material resources, advanced and modern technologies, which enable it to contribute to enriching the Iraqi society and humanity with a solid scientific foundation and formulate noble university traditions that emphasize the advancement of the university community as a beacon and role model for society. The college aims to play a significant role in shaping agricultural policy in Iraq, as well as developing and modernizing agricultural methods by adopting the scientific approach and applied research as a means to enhance the economic level of the community.
The College of Agriculture is committed to nurturing the seeds of ambition, perseverance, and creativity in the hearts of its graduates and preparing them to overcome competition and challenges in both scientific and production fields, firmly believing that the pursuit of knowledge and continuous improvement is a way of life.
Mission
The College of Agriculture represents a constant source of giving, encompassing the genuine and prestigious values upheld by the university and the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research. It sets forth confident steps towards adopting rigorous standards for its educational and training outcomes, as well as developing its faculty in line with the significant advancements in regional and global universities. The college aims to achieve a dynamic extension of its influence within community activities, ensuring that knowledge plays a role in leading and serving society.
Objectives
- Prepare and graduate a specialized agricultural workforce capable of managing, developing, and modernizing agricultural projects by adopting curricula that keep pace with advancements in various agricultural disciplines. Focus efforts on providing students with practical training in field operations to acquire practical experience.
- Conduct applied scientific research in agricultural specialties aimed at solving problems encountered in the production process and developing production methods.
- Supply the community with advanced professionals in agricultural specialties through postgraduate studies at the college, based on the actual needs of the community and the emergence of new scientific disciplines.
- The college plays a role in shaping agricultural policy at the provincial and national levels, relying on the scientific approach in decision-making and planning for agricultural projects.
- Follow a policy of continuous development for the faculty by participating in training courses, seminars, and conferences both within and outside Iraq to ensure human interaction and keep up with regional and global developments in the agricultural field.
- Foster collaboration with Arab and international agricultural colleges to exchange expertise in curriculum development, the use of modern educational methods, conducting joint research, and exchanging visiting professors.
