A faculty member from the College of Agriculture has participated in the authorship of a specialized scientific book entitled: Papaya: Its Cultivation, Production, Environmental Impact, Breeding, and Bioactive Compounds.

Within the framework of supporting scientific output and strengthening academic cooperation among Iraqi universities, Assistant Professor Dr. Ikhlas Mutab Ahmed Al-Zuhairi, a faculty member at the College of Agriculture, University of Diyala, participated in the authorship of a specialized scientific book entitled “Papaya: Its Cultivation, Production, Environmental Impact, Breeding, and Bioactive Compounds,” in collaboration with a group of academic researchers from Al-Furat Al-Awsat Technical University.
This scholarly achievement forms part of the sustained research and academic efforts of Assistant Professor Dr. Ikhlas Mutab Ahmed in the field of modern agricultural studies, particularly those concerned with tropical crops of economic and nutritional significance. The book provides a comprehensive scientific review of papaya trees, covering methods of cultivation, propagation, and production, examining their environmental impact, and presenting an in-depth analysis of their bioactive compounds and associated health and nutritional benefits.
The book also includes chapters highlighting best agricultural practices, the plant’s environmental requirements, and modern techniques for improving productivity and developing optimal growing conditions for papaya cultivation across diverse regions.
