The Dean of the College of Agriculture conducts an inspection of the fields of the Department of Field Crop Sciences.
As part of his ongoing inspection tours of agricultural facilities, the Dean of the College of Agriculture at the University of Diyala, Professor Dr. Raed Ibrahim Khalil, accompanied by the Head of the Department of Field Crop Sciences, Professor Dr. Adnan Hussein Ali Al-Waka’a, conducted direct supervision of fieldwork in the agricultural fields of the College. The purpose of this visit was to monitor the stages of production processes for cereal crops (wheat, barley, and maize) and to ensure the provision of essential requirements critical for crop growth. Emphasis was placed on performing maintenance operations within optimal timeframes to reduce the incidence of various diseases. Additionally, stress was laid on implementing pest control measures at appropriate times to mitigate damage caused by pathogenic agents affecting field crops, with the aim of achieving maximum yield.
The visit also involved reviewing key obstacles related to fieldwork and issuing directives to ensure the provision of necessary resources for the successful cultivation of certain crops.
