Fourth-year students at the College of Agriculture, University of Diyala, Hala Basman Dawood and Mariam Thabit Fadel, under the supervision of Dr. Ikhlas Mutab Ahmed and Assistant Professor Muayyam Khalifa Qahar from the Department of Horticulture and Garden Engineering, presented a portion of the research project conducted as part of their graduation requirements to the College’s dean, Professor Dr. Raed Ibrahim Khalil.
The research project, focused on “Strawberry Plants,” involved the cultivation of two varieties of strawberry plants at our college’s research station. The study aimed to investigate the importance of adding humic acid and spraying with treblex and phasacil to strawberry plants and their effects on vegetative and fruit growth. Preliminary findings indicate positive impacts on both vegetative and fruit growth with the application of the spray. The research is ongoing, with additional treatments and sprays planned. Upon completion, measurements related to plant growth and fruiting will be taken.
Dean Dr. Raed Ibrahim Khalil commended the project of the two students and their supervisors.
