Discussion of a Master’s thesis
The faculty member at the College of Agriculture at the University of Diyala, Assistant Professor Dr. Raad Waheeb Mahmoud, participated as a committee member in the defense of a master’s thesis for student Najah Jaber Muhan at the College of Agriculture, Al-Qasim Al-Khadra University. The thesis is titled “A Study of the Design Characteristics of Some Components of the External Space of the Future University College and the Evaluation of Its Functional Performance.”
The study aimed to conduct a comprehensive field assessment of all university external spaces, examining and evaluating the natural and structural elements closely related to university external spaces. Additionally, a student assessment was carried out through surveys of gardens and paved areas to understand students’ preferences and needs.
Recommendations:

Develop future-oriented design proposals for the university based on scientific data related to student numbers and trends.

Enhance the aesthetic and functional aspects of university external spaces.

Incorporate the findings into future university planning and development projects.
