The Department of Animal Resource was established in 2004 to to provide the agricultural sector with scientific staffs specialized in the field of animal production. The scientific department has excellent teaching staff covering most of the specialties in animal sciences. The study includes receiving students theoretical lessons and practical training in laboratories and animal fields, management and development of livestock projects in the public and private sectors.
The vision of the Department:
Seeks Animal Resource department to own physical capabilities, sophisticated, and modern technologies that contribute to the Iraqi society and the service of humanity through its role in contributing actors in the scientific construction sober and drafting Commissioner university traditions in college which emphasizes promoted the university community it represents Al-Manar and role models for society, and that Section plays an important role in the development of plans for the development of livestock projects in Iraq and the development and modernization of management methods and production followed the adoption of the approach applied scientific research a way to raise the economic level of the community. The planting the seeds of ambition and perseverance and creativity in the hearts of the graduates and qualify them to pass the competition and challenges in the fields of science and production areas alike, requires that the application of science and modernization approach in life.
Department message:
Represents the message section along the message of the college to which he belongs to be a tributary net prolific tender of authentic and traditional values and of HH goals, and is keen to adopt modern technologies and discreet to teach the standards and the training of students for education and training distinct output section, and the Department is keen to develop his staff teaching in line with the large scientific and technical jumps in regional and international universities, and to achieve the vital extension and integration with the community needs to be aware of the role in leadership and community service.
Department targets:
1. Preparation and graduate agricultural engineers in the jurisdiction of livestock eligible for the management and development and modernization of livestock projects through the adoption of curricula keep pace with scientific development and technical in advanced universities, and focus efforts to provide students the opportunity for practical training in the implementation and management of field operations to gain practical experience.
2. Conducting applied scientific research in the terms of reference of livestock, which aims to solve the problems encountered in the production process and the development of the means of production used to provide the society with advanced cadres through planning to open graduate studies in the department according to the perspective of the actual community to the jurisdiction of the need and the emergence of new scientific disciplines.
3. Section participation in the formulation of policy livestock projects in the province and Iraq rely on the scientific method of decision-making and planning for the establishment and development of projects targets Section.
Animal field:
Animal field consists of a sheep barn, which is home to a herd of sheep nucleus local Alawasi, Turkish and allocated for practical training and scientific research.It is also available in the poultry hall that is home to a limited number of mothers herd broiler chickens Animal field provides the opportunity to train students on the practical field operations in addition to the use of the herd in the student research. Also available in animal lake for fish farming field for the purpose of training students the practical and scientific research.
