Assistant Professor Dr. Ahlam Ahmed Hussein, a faculty member from the College of Agriculture at the University of Diyala, participated as a committee member in the defense of a master’s thesis at the College of Agriculture, University of Anbar. The thesis, titled “The Impact of Plowing Type and Soil Cover on Some Physical Properties of Soil, its Sustainability, and its Effect on Moisture and Salt Distribution and Broccoli Plant Growth,” was presented by student Fatima Madhat Aziz.
The study aimed to elucidate the influence of plowing type and soil cover on the physical properties of the soil, as well as the movement of water and salts and their distribution in the soil. Additionally, it explored water consumption and the efficiency of water usage under different plowing and cover conditions, along with studying the growth and yield of broccoli plants in varying plowing and cover scenarios. In recognition of her outstanding performance in the discussion, the faculty member received a letter of appreciation from the college dean.
