Under the auspices of the President of the University of Diyala, Professor Tahseen Hussein Mubarak, and with the direct supervision of the Dean of the College of Agriculture, Professor Raed Ibrahim Khalil, the College of Agriculture at the University of Diyala organized the Third Annual Student Forum to discuss the graduation research projects of fourth-year students for the academic year 2023-2024, with participation from all scientific departments within the college.

The forum commenced with recitations from the Holy Quran, followed by the reading of Surah Al-Fatiha in honor of the martyrs of Iraq, and then the playing of the national anthem.

In his opening remarks, the University President stated: “The convening of this forum reaffirms our university’s commitment to research as a fundamental pillar of the educational process and reflects our vision to support an innovative environment that empowers students to excel and assume responsibilities in serving the community. The university is keen on cultivating true researchers who will enhance the scientific research system. I am pleased to announce the forthcoming change in the college’s name to the College of Smart Agricultural Engineering and the government’s support for graduates through the allocation of land areas to support agricultural engineering projects. In conclusion, I congratulate the students, the deanship, and all contributors for their efforts in making this forum a success.”

The Dean of the College, in his address during the forum, emphasized that the primary objective of holding this forum is to realize the college’s vision and mission by graduating researchers capable of investigation and analysis to address societal problems and enhance their field roles through the development of their research skills to meet labor market demands. He also expressed his gratitude and appreciation to the University President for his unwavering support for the college’s academic endeavors. The Dean further explained that the students’ research was discussed through the formation of scientific committees based on specializations, and the research was presented and debated through posters displaying the research titles, students’ names, and including the research methodology, problem, significance, sample, statistical analysis, conclusions, and recommendations.

The opening session of the forum was attended by the Director of Agricultural Extension and a large number of faculty members, staff, and students. The opening ceremony also included the honoring of participants by the Dean.
